System Instructions

Introduction

Microsoft Office has enabled closed captioning in the PowerPoint Office365 environment. This will allow individuals with hearing impairment to read along with presentations.

Instructions

Open the PowerPoint presentation to add closed captioning and select the Slide Show tab.

Select the Always Use Subtitles tab.

Select the Subtitle Language option.

Then select the desired language for the presentations closed captioning. Be sure to select the location of the Subtitles as well. Choose either Above Slide or Below Slide.

It is best not to choose Bottom (Overlaid) or Top (Overlaid) for closed caption positioning as these options will cover part of your presentation.

Once Subtitles have been configured using the above steps, the following icon will now appear, while presenting in a remote meeting, to toggle the Subtitles on or off.
